A: Compression garments are commonly used to treat lymphedema, hereditary lymphedema, post mastectomy lymphedema syndrome, and other postprocedural complications and disorders of the circulatory system. They may also support recovery after injury or improve comfort for people who stand or sit for long periods.
A: Compression levels are measured in mmHg (millimeters of mercury). Your doctor will recommend a level based on your diagnosis.
A: Yes, many insurance plans—including Medicare and Medicaid—cover compression garments when they are medically necessary and prescribed by a physician. We’ll take care of all documentation, approvals, and billing coordination.
A: Not always. Some patients benefit from ready-to-wear options, while others—especially those with irregular limb shapes or advanced lymphedema—need custom garments for the best fit and effectiveness. Our specialists will guide you during your fitting.
A: No, we offer in-office fittings at no cost to you. We’ll measure your limb(s), assess your condition, and help you choose the right garment type and compression level.
A: Once your insurance approves the order, garments are usually delivered and fitted 5-7 business days after insurance authorization. Custom garments take approximately 6-8 weeks.
A: Most garments last about 3–6 months with daily wear. They should be replaced regularly to maintain proper compression. We can set you up with a reordering schedule based on your insurance coverage. Insurance will cover replacement garments every 6 months.
A: Some higher-compression garments can be snug, but we offer donning aids and training to make it easy. Wraps are also available for those with limited hand strength or dexterity.
